OzHub, the Macquarie Telecom-led cloud computing alliance, has come down firmly on the side of Optus over the copyright controversy surrounding Optus TV Now, warning that any moves to change the law "risk branding Australia a global luddite state."

Fill your stockings with new Xbox 360 controllers this Christmas

Your IT - Entertainment

While production of the Wii is slowing, Sony's PS3 is selling left right and centre, thanks to its new Slim package. Microsoft's response? Meet the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Arcade Game Pack, or as I like to call it, the WCAGP.

The pack, seemingly aimed at both existing and new Xbox 360 owners, has "over $35 worth of extras" and seems to be targeting families who will spend more time playing their game consoles over the Christmas break, whether that be a new console or not. Oh, and as long as it isn't a PS3 or Wii.

The new pack, which is available from today, includes an Xbox 360 Wireless controller and four Xbox Live Arcade games for a RRP of $89.95. The Arcade games include Geometry Wars 2, Lumines Live and Bomberman Live on the disc and a free download of Ms. Pac-man from Xbox Live. GW2 and Lumines Live are both highly recommended, whereas the latter two will likely quickly become unused and dusty, at least in the metaphorical sense.

Microsoft today released a statement, which read, “The Xbox 360 wireless controller gives you a brilliant interactive social gaming experience. The black coloured controller is the perfect accessory for the Xbox 360 console and includes four Xbox Live Arcade titles for easy-playing over the holidays.” Good, because I'm definitely not a fan of hard-playing.

The pack is also released with the intention of netting more Xbox Live subscribers, which includes around 20 million users at time of writing. Xbox Live, despite taking arguably a step backwards by banning over a million copyright-infringing users, has recently taken a few steps forward and now includes the use of services like Facebook and Twitter.

The limited edition "WCAGP" pack (expect that title to catch on) is available now from participating retailers, for $89.95.
