Forza Motorsport 3 Wireless Wheel Bundle rounds the final bend

Your IT - Entertainment

New video-game bundles appear each week, the latest is streaming down the finishing straight with a Microsoft symbol emblazoned on its side.  For the Xbox 360, this wireless driving wheel plus Forza Motorsport 3 bundle will be required hardware for any video-game racing fan.

Okay, so there is no real feeling of inertia, and no real danger to life or limb in video-game racing.  But that does not stop developers from striving to increase the reality of the experience.

Games such as the upcoming Forza Motorsport 3 almost demand to be played with something other than the game pad, up steps Microsoft with a new game and wheel controller.

Microsoft says: From the 23rd of October 2009, Australian motoring fans will be able to purchase the Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel bundled with the stunning new blockbuster title “Forza Motorsport 3” for the ultimate living room racing experience with Xbox 360.

Bundled with the best racing title of the year, the Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel, with simulated driving sensations from drifting to power sliding, gives you unmatched realism on the track.

The Wireless Racing Wheel is inspired by professional race car cockpits for high performance and true-to-life handling that simulates all kinds of road surfaces. With powerful Force Feedback and dual Rumble motors right in your hands, you’ll feel every drift, turn, skid and shudder as you roar toward the chequered flag.

With more than 400 cars on over 100 tracks, the next game in the heralded Forza series will be the biggest and most vividly realistic console racing title launching this year. “Forza Motorsport 3” players will get to experience the bone-jarring physics, unparalleled levels of customisation, and an epic car and track list, including the introduction of V8 Supercars to the Forza franchise.

Forza Motorsport 3 takes V8 Supercars to world-famous tracks, including Suzuka, Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Sebring International Raceway, as well as new environments like the mountainous Montserrat region in Spain, the rugged Amalfi Coast in Italy and the American Southwest.

The Xbox 360 Forza 3 Motorsport + Wireless Wheel Hard Bundle will be available at participating retailers and can be preordered today for AU$199.90rrp, a saving of AU $50.00.
