Rockstar games has the iPhone and iPod Touch in its sights with versions of Beaterator and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars making the leap to Apples devices.

Already well into the development and hype building for Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars moving from Nintendo DS to the Sony PlayStation Portable, today RockStar Games announced a version of the hand-held gangster game is heading for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

With big name developers such as Lucas Arts and Rockstar Games making the jump from more traditional gaming hardware to the omniscient Apple platforms, the iPhone and iPod Touch have shown that they are more than capable of being a serious contender- given suitable software - to Sony and even Nintendo’s dominance of the hand-held market.
