Activision have announced the first details of a platform spanning video game tie-in to the next battling robots movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Even more details are slipping forth about the next Transformers game .

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen the game, will be obviously linked with the forthcoming cinematic release by the same name. 

But for those gamers who walk amongst us, Activision have trickle fed the following info plus opened up the official web site here.

From Activision: We wanted to let you know that Activision has launched the official Web site for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game at www.TransformersGame.com . Fans can log on and join a global Transformers community to get the latest news, images, videos and developer insight about the highly-anticipated video game set to hit shelves this winter.

Once they join the battle, fans can personalise the look and feel of the site by choosing their favourite character-based Transformer theme.

Members will then receive exclusive updates through email newsletters and also be granted instant access to a range of exclusive concept art, in-game screenshots and all upcoming video reveals leading to the launch of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  To add to the immersive experience even further, the Web site will soon expand to include an in-depth developer blog, streaming music from the game and the return of the hit web game, Battle for the AllSpark V2.

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game, based on the upcoming live-action feature film from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures in association with Hasbro, lets players take on the role of their favourite AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, picking from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers - each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry.  Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai, the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels.  After engaging in single player action, players for the first time ever will be able to go online and battle friends in all-new multiplayer modes.

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game is currently in development by Luxoflux for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and by Beenox Studios for Windows PC.  Also, Krome Studios is developing a distinct Wii version and Vicarious Visions is developing two unique AUTOBOT or DECEPTICON-specific Nintendo DS versions.
