FIFA game winner rubs shoulders with top soccer players

The winner of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2008 has been presented with his tropny at the FIFA World Player Gala in Zurich, Switzerland.

The FIFA Interactive World Cup was a tournament for players of EA Sports' FIFA 08 game on PlayStation 3.

Qualifying rounds took place online and at live events around the world. The finals took place in Berlin, Germany last year, and the winner was Alfonso Ramos of Spain.

Ramos received his trophy on Monday at the prestigious FIFA World Player Gala held this year in Zurich.

Also present at the event was Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal and Manchester United), the FIFA World Player of the Year.

For the third year in succession, the women's title went to Marta (Marta Vieira da Silva, Brazil). Marta played for Swedish team Umeå IK during 2008, but recently announced a move to Los Angeles Sol for 2009.

Some 320,000 entries have already been received for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2009. The last chance to enter will be March 31.
