What is the most played game on the Nintendo Wii, Statistics exposed by Nintendo reveal the most popular games and how long Wii owners spend playing them.

1.6 million U.S based Wii owners have contributed to the Nintendo Channel game-play statistics, MTV harvested them and, for your edification appear here.

The top six games remain unchanged from last month with Top of the pile award going to Super Smash Bros, with an average time played of almost 65 hours for the life of the game.

Number two is Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, racking up 58 hours, 41 minutes of imaginary Wii rock dreams.  Guitar Hero: World Tour also featured high on the list, coming in 12th (dropping from 10th).

The rest of the top six looks like this:
#3 Zelda: Twilight Princess – 46 hours, 29 minutes.
#4 Wii Sports – 34 hours, 47 minutes.
#5 Rock Band – 28 hours, 55 minutes.
#6 Mario Kart – 27 hours, 17 minutes.

Animal Crossing: City Folk (  Let’s go to the City in other regions) is a big riser this month with fans racking up an extra 577 minutes over the previous release month.

MTV commentators also pointed out that; “Wii Play” continues to defy the critics, by actually getting played — a lot.  Officially racking up an average of almost 10 hours of game-play on US Wii consoles.

Other highlights of note:

Wii Music is ranked 26th on the list with an average time of 7 hours, 3 minutes.
Wii Fit is also surprisingly low, given its sales popularity, ranked 16th at 16 hours and 16 minutes usage.
