If LucasArts can translate Demo downloads into full version sales, then Star Wars: The Force Unleashed could be one of the biggest selling games of all time. Just ask the Xbox LIVE Marketplace servers.
The Star Wars franchise is once again in the marketplace, with the Clone Wars movie, associated game and the soon to be released multiplatform
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
With fame comes success [most of the time] and it looks like since the release of the demo on August 21, that Xbox 360 owning Star Wars fans have been keen to get their gloved hands upon the game.
Xbox LIVE Marketplace servers have pumped out more than 1 million copies of the demo in eight days. This slashes a full day off the same milestone reached by previous record holder, the Call of Duty 4 Variety map pack.
According to publisher Activision: “In addition to the record-breaking downloads on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360, the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo is also available on the PLAYSTATION® Network, and between them has been downloaded more than 2.3 million times worldwide to date.”
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in its full form is launched this coming September 17th on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii and DS
