In a possible deliberate act of leakage – here is a early look at the in-your-face action of the up coming Space Marine, a third person Gears of Warhammer 40K style game.
THQ’s Australian studio has leaked a 10 minute movie (see below) of an early build for an upcoming third person game set in the Game Workshop Warhammer 40K universe.
Up to this point in time many of the games set in this rich sci-fi world have focused on the strategic side of play – in much the same way as the table top miniatures game it is derived from originally. Games such as Relic’s Dawn of War series have given us the opportunity to – in effect – animate our table top engagements.
Then there was the lamentable Fire Warrior first person shooter - best not to mention that release any further.
This game – Space Marine – puts us in the hefty sized boots of a Space Marine for a violent eye-level romp through the blood thirsty 40K universe. Wielding a chain-sword and bolter, along with an unshakeable faith in the God Emperor, the Space Marines are humanities protectors from the alien and spiritual threats rampant in the 41st millennium.
No other details are forthcoming - but rest assured we will now be grilling THQ Australia.
