International Digital Entertainment Festival expands eGames Expo

Melbourne is set to host an expanded digital lifestyle event.  Incorporating the eGames Expo, the International Digital Entertainment Festival hopes to cover topics from consumer to creator.

The first details are emerging about the changing face of the digital entertainment shows down under.

Formally known as, but now incorporating the eGames Expo (now in its third year), the International Digital Entertainment Festival (iDEF08) is broadening its scope a little.

There has always been an educational/career element to the eGames Expo, but iDEF08 will give this side of the industry its own identity, the ICT symposium and Careers Expo.

It is a little bare right now, but expect details to ramp up at www.idef.com.au

Key features of iDEF will include:

* New product launches from leading suppliers and the opportunity to buy the latest products at the show.

* Stage areas in the Digital Lifestyle show and eGames Expo featuring an ongoing schedule of keynote addresses, information sessions and entertainment.

* Designated lounge areas for general game play and specific eSport competition games zones

A series of presentations, workshops and industry panels covering all aspects of the digital industry – from film making, animation and game development to new media, digital entertainment and more
