Sales of games such as NBA 2k8, Carnival Games, Grand Theft Auto back catalogue including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories in Japan as well as blockbuster BioShock led an increase in Distribution Revenue.

But overall revenue was down to AU$240.4 million compared to AU$277.3 million for the same quarter 2007.

Net loss for the first quarter wasAU$38.0 million or AU$0.52 per share, compared to a net loss of AU$21.5 million or AU$0.30 per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2007.

Demand for Wii based products according to Take-Two was robust, probably including titles such as RockStar Games Table Tennis for Wii.

The rest of 2008 and 2009 is looking good for Take-Two with the slated April 29th release of Grand Theft Auto IV along with the new announcement of a sequel to 2007’s BioShock.
