As payback for the limited availability of Guitar Hero III:Legends of rock packs for the Nintenod Wii, Activision has announced the GHIII Double Pack, with instant multiplayer fun for Wii owners.  Guitar Hero III:Legends of Rock for the PC is also set to launch.

Many rumblings of discontent associated the recent release of Guitar Hero III:Legends of Rock for the Wii.  Lack of units and the initial monotone offering did not please punters.

Now Guitar Hero fans can thrash it out with other in-living-room-rock-gods with the newly announced Double Pack.  The following press release gives details about the twin Gibson laden offering as well as Guitar Hero III for the PC and the new AMPLIFIED collation of former GH releases.  Enjoy.

SYDNEY, Australia, March 5th, 2008 -- Now Guitar Hero fans can rock out head-to-head with their friends and family on the Wii(tm) home video game system from Nintendo, as Activision Australia today ship the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii DOUBLE PACK bundle to retail stores nationwide.

With most Australian retailers selling out of the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in the lead up to Christmas, Activision Australia today released the Wii DOUBLE PACK which contains two Gibson Guitar's Les Paul model peripherals and Wii game software. This allows aspiring axe-shredders to rock out on the multiplayer functions of the game straight out of the box.

"Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock remains an overwhelming success for Activision Australia, and as such many potential guitar heroes have been disappointed by the lack of available units," said Peter Skjellerup, Product Manager, Red Octane/Activision Australia. "The introduction of the Wii DOUBLE PACK bundle aims to make amends for the shortfall of stock by giving Wii gamers access to multiplayer fun without buying two copies of the game!"
