Sony VAIO buyers to get free IceTV EPG

Your IT - Entertainment

Sony VAIO laptops sold in Australia that are Media Center enabled and have an inbuilt digital TV tuner are  to come with a three month subscription to the IceTV electronic programme guide.
The IceTV Guide enables users to navigate through the free-to-air TV programmes for the week ahead within the Media Center user interface and set recordings by simply highlighting the show and pressing record using their remote control.

Once recorded, shows appear in the 'Recorded TV' library with their name, episode and description. The IceTV Guide can also be used to search for programs by keyword, title or genre. Also, IceTV Remote allows customers to remotely set individual TV shows or an entire TV series to be recorded by logging in to one of IceTV's websites from any web-browser or web-enabled mobile.

The models covered by the deal are the VGN-AR49 and VGC-LM18. An three month subscription to IceTV normally costs $33, or $99 for a year.
