Aussie Xbox chief: 'œHalo 3 will set records for entertainment industry'

Your IT - Entertainment

As Halo 3 hits shelves, one of the first nations to “Finish the fight” will be Australia.  The team at Xbox Australia are bracing for the excitement of Halo 3 launch day with some big statements.

Halo 3, heard of it?  No? Well it may be hard to avoid over the next few months as Microsoft prepare an onslaught of targeted advertising.

In Australia, one of the first of 37 countries that the Master Chief will land upon this week has Halo 3 on shelves right now.

David McLean, Director of Xbox, says, "Excitement couldn't be higher for 'Halo 3'. An astonishing one-in-four Xbox 360 owners have pre-ordered the game in Australia and we're expecting 'Halo 3' to set new sales records for not just video games but the entertainment industry at large."

What?  Bigger than “Crocodile Dundee”?  Surely not.  Huger than “Kath & Kim”?  How could that be possible?

Halo 3, expect the stereotype of the “Bronzed Aussie” to be banished for some time to come, as gamers flock indoors to complete a video game phenomenon upon their Xbox 360’s from today.
