On the back of strong hardware sales for Wii and DS and some fine software releases on the near horizon, Nintendo Australia has reason to be buoyant.

Nintendo are in the mood to trumpet some recent success with both hardware and software. 

The following release gives further insight in what down-under Nintendo fans can look forward to with the rest of 2007;

Australia, Melbourne, September 19, 2007 –
Nintendo announces some exciting releases for the rest of the year, while Nintendo DS® and Wii™ console hardware continue to perform well.

Nintendo DS hardware continues to go from strength to strength.  With the Nintendo DS Lite leading the way it has now amassed an Australian installed base of over 700,000 units

The strong hardware sales looks set to continue for the rest of 2007 as Nintendo Australia outlines its Nintendo DS new releases for the remainder of the year.

For Nintendo DS, October 11 sees the release of the much anticipated The Legend of Zelda®: Phantom Hourglass. This latest full-scale adventure adds a new and exciting level of interaction by allowing players to intuitively control the entire game utilising the Nintendo DS touch screen controls. With cell shaded graphics, this game is sure to be a hand held hit for the 2007 Christmas period. 

Other releases for Nintendo DS include DK Jungle Climber™ on November 1, Naruto Ninja Council (European Version) on November 15 with Mario Party DS™ December 6 and Master of Illusion™ set for a mid December release date.

While for Wii, the release schedule for the remainder of 2007 contains the biggest names in video games.

Whilst the first Touch! Generations release for Wii comes on November 8 with Big Brain Academy™ for Wii, the only school where you can school your friends and family!  This new multiplayer release delivers a fun-filled workout for the mind, allowing friends and families to compete and play together in games of knowledge, memory and recognition. How big is your brain?

November 8 is looking to be a truly big day as Metroid® Prime 3: Corruption also hits the shelves.  This is the release that will re-define first person shooter / adventure games.  Coming 22 November is Pokémon® Battle Revolution where Pokémon® Diamond and Pokémon® Pearl players can copy their Pokémon characters from the DS games into a spectacular 3D environment on the Wii and battle players around the globe via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

November 29, Super Mario Galaxy™ will be released in Australia.  This amazing achievement by legendary Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto inspires awe with its amazing sense of gravity and fun. 

December 13 we will also see Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and mid December brings Zack and Wiki; Quest for Barbaros' Treasure.
