Developer Team 17 are targeting the “new Wii demographic” of gamers with Worms: A Space Oddity

Team 17 do little more than Worms games, semi-turn based (2D when they are good, 3D when so-so) blow up the opposition wrigglers with overt the top weapons.  A favourite being the little old lady bomb.

Now Worms take flight into a new arena on a new platform.

THQ announce Worms: A Space Oddity due for a [southern] Autumn 2008 release on Nintendo Wii.

On Six different planetary landscapes the worms will belt each other into the heavens.  Worms: A Space Oddity will also feature a new Sci-Fi graphical adaptation, and online multiplayer for up to four Wii-mote controlled Worm teams
