Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
"Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we're glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience," said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. "We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it."
The company did not explain what changes were needed in order to get an M rating for Manhunt 2. Sony and Nintendo will not license titles rated AO, and major retailers in the US will not carry PC games rated higher than M.
Manhunt 2 was rejected by by the British Board of Film Classification, meaning it cannot be legally sold in its home country. At the time, the BBFC was unable to recommend changes to the game that would bring it inside the guidelines for even the 18 category. Rockstar appealed that decision. No new versions of Manhunt 2 are listed on the BBFC's web site, and Rockstar's announcement of the ESRB M rating gave no indication that it had submitted that version for classification in the UK. Given the BBFC's comments, it seems unlikely that the changes made for the US market would satisfy British authorities.
The game has also been banned in Ireland.
Generally speaking, US authorities seem less concerned about violence and more bothered by sex and nudity than their European counterparts.
