Manhunt 2, the sequel to the brutal and violent survival game, originally banned in the U.S has had some 'edits' made. Take-Two Interactive Software are on track for a Halloween release of the game.
In what seems to be a well-practiced process for Take-Two Interactive and developer Rockstar Games, they have gone back into the development bunker to hack and slash at their own violent game
Manhunt 2.
The result is a 'Mature' rated game by the U.S ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board). Being able to be played by 17 year-olds and over is much better for the Take-Two bottom line than the complete ban originally imposed by the Board.
"Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we're glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, "Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it,"
The game is still banned by Censors in Britain and Ireland. Take-Two have resubmitted the revised
Manhunt 2 for a hopeful lifting of the ban.
Meanwhile, U.S. Manhunt fans can brace themselves for a release of the game this Halloween (Oct 31st) on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable
