New research shows that Microsofts Xbox 360 has breezed past the Nintendo Wii as the most searched for video game console online

{mosloadpostiion mike}According to data research firm Hitwise, July saw the Xobxo 360 overtake Wii for number of searches on the internet.

The Nintendo Wii has been leading since November 2006.

Other search strings to register high volume in the research included “Xbox 360 Elite”, “Xbox 360 games”, “Xbox 360 Cheats” along with the less cheer raising for Microsoft, “Xbox 360 problems” and “Xbox 360 repair”.

The rumour mill is hot as wll with “Xbox 360 price drop” ranking well above “PlayStation 3 price drop” or “PS3 price drop”.

My own limited iTWire research shows that “Halo 3” and “Gears of War 2” would also rank highly in Xbox 360 related searches.
