Super Mario Bros 2 bounds onto Wii VC

Your IT - Entertainment

Nintendo do not give a nostalgic tear time to dry as the Virtual Console releases keep on coming, Super Mario Bros 2, Mach Rider and Blazing Lazers all make their way to the down-load service this week.

Originally on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1989 Super Mario Brothers 2 brings more 2D platform fun to the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console for 500 Wii points.

Pure bouncing fun awaits as you guide your choice of  Mario, Luigi, Toad or Princess Peach through seven brightly coloured lands of Subcon to defeat the wicked Wart.

Also from 1989 comes Blazing Lazers, straight from the TurboGrafx-16 console during the hey-days of space shoot-em-ups.  Blazing Lazers is a typical old school vertical scrolling shooter.

Collect power-ups along the way to literally fill the screen with the destructive fire-power of your little space ship as you dodge enemy attacks over nine levels.  Blazing Lazers is available for 600 Wii points

Finally we see the even older Mach Rider from 1987.  Originally seen on the NES Mach Runner is a futuristic motor bike racing/fighting game.  Three modes including racing, fighting and endurance tracks will task the gamer to defeat the Earth invaders whilst trying to complete the tracks in a speedy time.

The game includes a course editor that can be saved to the Wii.  Mach Rider will set you back 500 Wii points
