Geometry Wars:Galaxies for Wii and DS

Your IT - Entertainment

Vivendi Universal is bringing the exciting and simple Xbox 360 Live Arcade old-school shooter to the Nintendo Wii and DS, with expanded content.

he exciting Geometry Wars is one of the favoured games on Xbox 360 Live Arcade and now both the Xbox 360 offering Geometry Wars Evolved and a new game Geometry Wars: Galaxies will arrive on the Nintendo formats.

GW has a simple concept straight from the old Arcade days, game-play is similar to the classic Asteroids, but with the obviously more stylised approach of battling geometric shapes instead of asteroids.

Evolved on the Xbox 360 is a frenzy of neon colours and explosions as the player guides the on screen craft.  Adding the Wii's unique controller to the mix will be an intriguing combination.

Galaxies will take this concept and make it larger, instead of a geometric asteroid game; the scope becomes universal in size, with a campaign that involves planning along with the familiar mindless blasting and seat-o-pants survival.  Players will choose their battles by travelling between planets.

Both the Wii and DS will be multiplayer -Wii will support two players whilst the DS will take advantage of its wi-fi connection.

The game(s) are currently in development by UK-based Kuju Entertainment
