New NiGHTS for Wii

Your IT - Entertainment

Sega's acrobatic game NiGHTS is set to get a new life on the Nintendo Wii.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is a followup to NiGHTS Into Dreams, a decade-old game for the Sega Saturn.

The new one or two player game is well suited to, and will take full advantage of, the Wii Remote motion-sensing controller. "We plan to deliver a gameplay experience never before seen on the Wii," said Scott Steinberg, vice president of marketing, Sega of America.

Some online functionality is also expected.

Sega describes the game thus: "As a fantasy jester called NiGHTS, you will experience a heightened sense of gliding, spiraling, and looping through seven extraordinary worlds of Nightopia where the ocean resides in the sky and glass-formed cliffs overlook a castle of mirrors. When the 'Nightmarens' from the neighboring dark world of Nightmare infiltrate the idyllic Nightopia, NiGHTS must defend the dream world to keep it safe for all dreamers."

The English language version of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for Wii is due to ship in around six months. Its price and rating have not yet been announced.
