Your IT - Entertainment

The forthcoming Pokemon Battle Revolution game for the Nintendo Wii will be the first to take advantage of Wii-DS wireless connectivity.

In addition to transferring Pokemon Diamond or Pearl characters from the DS, players will be able to use the DS as a Wii controller.

The DS and Wii both have built-in Wi-Fi hardware.

Another notable feature of Pokemon Battle Revolution is that it is the first Wii game supporting online play via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the company's Internet-based gaming system.

Pokemon Battle Revolution, scheduled for US release on June 25, is the first game in the Pokemon franchise for Nintendo's well-received console. Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl for the DS are due on April 22.

Other familiar names coming to the Wii in the next few months include Mario, Prince of Persia, and Mortal Kombat.
