These figures may be an underestimate of console ownership and use, since Nielsen's focus is on televisions. Consoles connected to monitors that do double-duty with a PC, for example, would not be covered.

And it certainly underestimates the total gaming market, as handheld consoles, PC games and Internet-based games are completely ignored.
