Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Second coming of the White iPhone 4: resurrected!

The White iPhone 4 has been officially launched by Apple at last, and while it took a lot longer than 3 days to fully resurrect since it was last officially seen with the iPhone 3GS, a white iPhone 4 is mythical no longer!

Even though the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 is now said to be due in September, just under six months from now, Apple's commitment to deliver a white iPhone 4 unto the world has come down from high upon the mountain at last.

Previously stuck in the never-never between initial announcement and actual shipping, the crunchy company's second official iPhone 4 colour looks like it will get a several-month clear run at generating as many sales as possible before a likely even-thinner next-gen iPhone inevitably arrives.

Although white iPhone 4 models have been officially unavailable until today, a third-party market of white iPhone 4 casings has been available online, letting the adventurous create their own white iPhone 4 models, even if Apple wasn't thrilled to see the white black-market of third-party casings gain popularity.

So, now that the White iPhone 4 is here at last, what has Apple said to accompany its launch?

Well, beyond stating that they're available now from Apple's online store and "select Apple Authorised Resellers", Apple's Phil Schiller, the senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing said: "The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it's beautiful. We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we've worked to get every detail right.'

While Mr Schiller hasn't expanded on what getting "ever detail right" really means, presumably it revolves around solving the reported light leakage issue that saw third-party, after market, white iPhone 4 produce inferior pictures when compared to an official black iPhone 4 model.

If that's indeed the issue being alluded to, upcoming owners of the white iPhone 4 will undoubtedly share their findings online with the rest of the world as soon as possible.

Apple reminds the world that the white iPhone 4 has the same innovative features as the black iPhone 4 without putting it in those terms, preferring instead to repeat the iPhone 4 features we're all already familiar with.

So, with the white iPhone 4 available from today, which countries are really on that April 28 list?

Apple says the first countries include "Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the US".

Apple says that "many more countries around the world" will be getting the white iPhone 4, too. Steve Jobs hath not forsaken thee!

Pricing is also identical to the black iPhone 4 model - AUD $859 for the 16GB model and AUD $999 for 32GB model.

So. . . if you've truly been waiting for the white iPhone 4, it's here at last, with the exact timing of the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 model the biggest question for those trying to figure out whether to buy now or wait just a little bit longer!
