Accounting software company, Xero, has appointed a new head of its sales operation in Australia responsible for driving the adoption of its cloud based systems by start-up companies and the small business community.

Hot on the heels of its acquisition of payroll provider, Paycycle for $1.5 million and recently acquired software developer, Max Solutions for $4.7 million, online accounting software provider, Xero, is claiming a near tripling of its customer base in Australia from 6,000 paid customers to over 16,000 in the past 12 months.

GM Holden has sealed an agreement under which online and digital media solutions company, Hostworks will be solely responsible for maintaining its online consumer presence in Australia.
