A proposal to give the minister power to withhold, at his or her discretion, the safe harbour protection provided by the Copyright Act would stifle innovation and investment, and should not be adopted, according to Ericsson.

Reps passes Cybercrime Bill despite highly critical committee report
The Australian Greens are dismayed that the Cybercrime Bill has been passed by the House of Representatives with support from both Government and Opposition members, despite the Cyber Safety Committee tabling a highly critical unanimous report on the bill, proposing a series of amendments and requesting clarification.
