With the launch of the 2012 iPhone 5 still at least six to nine months away, all of the attention is on the unjailbreakable iPhone 4S and iPad 2, but as of very late 2011, the iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch with A4 processors can finally be jailbroken.

The latest iPhone virus has arrived.  This one adds the iPhone to a botnet and changes that pesky default SSH password.

Sophos' Graham Cluley is amazed at the reception given to the iPhone worm creator.  Others have offered a mix of jobs and death threats.

As expected, the Naughty Lads of the Internet have picked up the original iPhone virus and made it do something 'useful.'  If you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch, change the SSH password NOW!

The iPod Touch is an iPhone without the phone.  This means the Touch is just as susceptible to the ikee virus as the iPhone.

If you have jailbroken your iPhone, enabled SSH and neglected to change the default password, expect to get infected very soon!

A European developer of iPhone software has suggested Apple may be blocking the delivery of push notifications to iPhones that have been unofficially unlocked.

We’re yet to see whether iPhone OS 3.0 launches for download in a few hours time, along with a new iPhone itself, or if both will be delayed, but the iPhone Dev Team has warned against rogue downloads promising yellowsnow updates, fake 3.0 unlocks and even upgrading to iTunes 8.2 itself.

The iPhone 3.0 firmware is still in Beta, but that doesn't mean it cannot be jailbroken as Apple discovered within 24 hours of releasing iPhone OS 3 Beta 2.
