Over the past four years I have been tracking Green IT very closely.

The federal government is merging the operations of seven older data centres into a new data centre to support the operations of the Department of Human Services in a move which the government says will save about $5 million in power costs and reduce the department's ICT carbon footprint by 50 percent.

The Australian Information Industry Association has raised concerns that the importance of ICT in helping to develop and implement clean energy options has not been taken sufficiently into account in the report of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) Expert Review just released.
