The IT sector is a bright light amidst the gloomy picture of the current executive job market in Australia, with the demand for IT and executives increasing in August, bucking the trend in other business and industry sectors which suffered significant falls.

Despite interest in cloud computing models, one analyst group says that it's unlikely that Australian and New Zealand enterprises and organisations will no longer buy servers, at least not in the foreseeable future.

Innovation services provided to business by the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC) could be worth up to $240 million per year to the economy in additional turnover, exports, and hundreds of new jobs, according to an independent report commissioned by the AIC.
