Ad-skipping PVRs "not authorised" to use Australia's so-called open EPG
Australia's television broadcasters have confirmed PVRs allowing ad-skipping are "not authorised" to use the new free-to-air electronic program guide, but refuse to detail how this will be enforced.

Australia gets free EPG at last!
Australia's television networks have finally caved to public pressure, agreeing to offer a completely free and unencrypted electronic program guide to all viewers as of January 1, 2008.

Telstra adds more channels, EPG to Foxtel on Next G
Telstra has doubled the number of Foxtel channels that can be watched on Next G mobiles and has given Next G users access to Foxtel's electronic programme guide, enabling them to remotely program their Foxtel iQ set-top box/PVR to record programmes of their choice.
