Online movie rental company Quickflix (ASX: QFX) is to stream movies to PlayStation3 starting later this year under an agreement with Sony.

Sony might not be the first to arrive for the Android tablet party, but at least it's bringing something different.

Sony Ericsson is blessed by having access to some of the considerable digital multimedia assets and technologies that Sony has created and updates on a yearly basis, with the new Xperia Arc containing features from Sony’s Bravia TVs and Cybershot cameras. Launching “soon” on Vodafone and Optus, there’s also new Bravia TV remote control software for Android and iPhone available to download in the respective app markets!

The Sony music streaming service, Music Unlimited launches today in the US and Australian markets.  The service is a cloud-based subscription plan offering music lovers a way to program their music streaming experience.  Will this be Sony’s or Android’s  iTunes?

There is another digitised war a-brewin.  And as is nearly always the case lately, Sony and Apple are involved.  The Sony hierarchy are miffed about Apple’s blocking of an e-book app that bypassed iTunes content delivery mechanism, and from here the battle has escalated to the point where Sony may pull its vast catalogue of music content from iTunes.

Sony announced a video download service for the Australian market today in Sydney, but they also gave a select few (including myself) the chance to try out the new motion controller, and check out Sony’s PS3 based 3D gaming.

Sony has long been one of the world’s signature technology companies, delivering products that are always distinctively “Sony” - and the 2010 range of Bravias is no exception.

Consumer electronics giant Sony today revealed it was planning a push with 3D television technology into the Australian market in July, at which point it believed the whole ecosystem around the new platform would be ready.
