Whether you're into The Bill, The Wire or The Einstein Factor, PS3 users can now get their fix thanks to a new update that allows on demand viewing of ABC programs, if they have the download capacity that is!

The community television sector is up in arms at being left out of funding allocations by the federal government in Tuesday’s budget and says it has a desperate need for just $3 million to go digital.

The ABC has been allocated  $15.3 million over three years to in the Federal Budget to expand its Local Regional Broadband Hubs to "encourage and assist the development of user generated content and create online avenues for local communities to connect and collaborate."

The announcement that iPrimus will provide unmetered downloads for TiVo users comes as no surprise.

Metered downloads are a pain for media junkies wanting to get their fix online. Internode is excluding TiVo downloads from the monthly quota.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has launched a web site optimised for accessing from mobile devices, and applications for the iPhone and Android handsets for accessing ABC content. (The iPhone app was not available when this item was posted. That has now changed and a link to it is included at the end.)

iiNet, iPrimus and iNternode (ok, Internode) have all gone down the unmetered ABC iView path, and now iiNet subsidiary Westnet has done the same, too.

So, we know that iiNet, Internode, Westnet and iPrimus are now able to offer unmetered access to ABC TV’s iView service, but where’s Telstra, Optus and the rest?

Following on from yesterday’s announcement that Internode has joined iiNet in offering unmetered access to ABC TV’s iView “TV-on-demand” service, iPrimus has issued a press release today advising it has done so, too – while expanding its unmetered offerings to a range of other content. Rejoice!

Internode customers who are also fans of Australia’s ABC television network can rejoice: you can now watch as much ABC TV through the iView “catch up service” as you want without drawing down on your monthly download limit!
