Trading Technologies International has opened a new data centre in Sydney for its TTNET fully managed hosting solution for market traders.
Trading Technologies' (TT) new Sydney data centre is its seventh, joining existing facilities in Chicago, New Jersey, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Singapore. The network provides traders with low-latency access to more than 30 markets around the world.
TTNET previously provided access to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) via Singapore and Chicago.
Where possible, the TTNET gateways are colocated with exchange matching engines to minimise latency.
"The expansion of TTNET is fuelled by customer demand from a growing regional base along with our international bank customers, who require high-speed access to global markets," said Robbie McDonnell, said TT vice president and managing director for Asia/Pacific.
The opening of the Sydney node was welcomed by the ASX. "The availability of TTNET makes global connectivity into the new ASX Trade24 futures platform easier for all TTNET customers," said Will Wilson, the Exchange's general manager, sales and marketing.
An eighth TT data centre is scheduled to open in in Sao Paulo later this year.
