The nature of the Cunningham Lindsey business demands high-quality communications and the ability to quickly get teams up and running in parts of the country which have often suffered significant damage. Regardless of size, scope and location the Cunningham response teams must manage loss adjustment and claim management quickly and efficiently following weather related, earthquake, tsunami, or other catastrophic events each year.
Cunningham Lindsey faced the challenges of; very lean IT, a myriad of suppliers for their ageing PABX’s & phone systems across the country, numerous support touch points, multiple contracts and vendors, and a network that wouldn’t meet the demands of the company’s growing customer base.
“The difficulty of managing numerous system variations, contracts and vendors, and 30-plus PABX’s across the country, meant the IT team was wasting time fire-fighting issues and tracking items on an ad-hoc basis. We had multiple single points of failure and if one element was overlooked the results could be disastrous,” said Brian Kable, National IT Manager.
Cunningham Lindsey sought a single-supplier who could provide an end-to-end managed service that would reduce the number of failure points across the business, provide a national phone system, and a greatly improved WAN network that offered greater data capacity and quality.
With this clear set of objectives in mind Kable ran an informal tender process to engage with a variety of communications suppliers when the existing contract was nearing an end. This process gave the prospective suppliers the opportunity to ask the right questions, gain an understanding of the Cunningham Lindsey business, and present a compelling argument for how they could best meet the organisation’s requirements.
“I wanted to be assured that the successful offering reflected a true partnership-like arrangement and Azzurri achieved that. We chose Azzurri because not only did they invest a great deal of time in the process, they had a very knowledgeable team involved and were streaks ahead of the competition – which was all reflected in their proposal,” said Kable.
At the end of the new system roll-out Cunningham Lindsey will be operating their business on Azzurri’s comUnity™ platform.
Jon Evans, Azzurri Communications, Managing Director said, “Our comUnity™ platform provides companies with total control of their communication estate and unifies their data and voice communications. Cunningham Lindsey excels at providing loss adjusting and claims management services and our job is to add value to their business by managing the communications strategy and service delivery, taking away the pain of dealing with multiple services and contracts.”
As a result: the day-to-day undertakings of the IT team, the end-user experience in any of the 40+ sites across Australia, and the catastrophe response teams capabilities on the ground when disaster occurs; will be greatly enhanced with productivity gains and greater opportunities for business improvements.
