ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced enhanced website monitoring tools which allow businesses to measure website performance from the perspective of their customers.

While sales at Australian traditional retail outlets have been treading water in recent years, Australian online retail sales grew 22% to $11.9 billion for the 12 months to Aug 2012 according to the most recent National Australia Bank Online Retail Sales Index.

Alex D Paul, Director - ITSM Products at ManageEngine commented, “In the online retail space competitors are always just a few clicks away. When a website is slow or a technical problem occurs, businesses really need to take immediate steps to reassure customers, and correct the problem. Without the ability to measure performance from a customer perspective, you will be flying blind when managing your online sales effort.”

Applications Manager + Site24x7
The newly announced capabilities are an enhancement to ManageEngine’s popular Applications Manager, an on-premise software application performance monitoring solution. The solution has been integrated with Site24x7, which is ManageEngine’s cloud based website performance measurement tool.

The combined solution gives businesses in-depth visibility into the performance of their websites, from both within the business, and from more than 40 external locations around the world. This offers managers an in-depth understanding of the way their customers and visitors experience a website.

Applications Manager monitors over 50 business apps and servers out of the box, offering an in-depth view of operations within the corporate datacenter. Information is presented in easy to understand performance reports from different geographical locations, as well as showing faults in a unified alarm console. There is automated syncing of information between Applications Manager and Site24x7, simplifying the amount of work needed by IT managers to setup and manage the monitoring solution.

Fault and alerts from Site24x7 are synchronised into the Alarms and Operations views in Applications Manager, giving managers a single holistic view of the situation when a fault occurs. Performance views from Site24x7 can also be integrated into custom dashboards within Applications Manager.

“With the aid of full data integration of Site24x7 into Applications Manager, our users get the benefits of analytics from multiple domains,” said Gibu Mathew, director of product management at ManageEngine. “It is a monitoring approach that uses the best of both worlds and enables businesses to get a better understanding of the user experience, closer to how their websites behave for actual users.”

Pricing and Availability
Applications Manager 10.8 is available immediately with prices starting at USD $795 for up to 25 servers or applications. To take advantage of the new Site24x7-powered feature, users must have an account established in Site24x7.
