MITIGATE Seminar announces six city Australian tour featuring Jonathan E. Turner

BRISBANE, Queensland - MITIGATE 2012, Australia's premier IT risk seminar, today added Jonathan E. Turner to the list of speakers that will tour Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth from late August through early September 2012.

MITIGATE Seminar Director Gilad Sadan, "Australian organisations are starting to become well aware of the risk of fraud."

"We are very excited that Jonathan E. Turner is bringing his expertise to MITIGATE, as he is a leading authority in the fraud and money laundering space. With reported frauds reaching $345 million in 2009 and 2010, and combined with an estimated unreported amount of $690 million, fraud cost Australian businesses up to a billion dollars during that two year period. Technology is making it easier for people who might not have been tempted previously to become criminals." said Sadan.

"Every Australian organisation that uses computers to run their operations should be sending at least one staff member to MITIGATE. The opportunity to hear what someone like Jonathan has to say is just too valuable to ignore."

Jonathan E. Turner is an expert in the investigation and documentation of financial fraud and computer crime matters. Working with Fortune 500 and other leading companies, his efforts have led to numerous multi-million dollar recoveries from fraud losses. He is a former Chairman of the Board of Regents and current Faculty member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and an Adjunct Professor at both the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and the University of Memphis.

"With two frauds in the tens of millions of dollars ($16M and $45M) having already affected Australian organisations during the first six weeks of this year, MITIGATE 2012 will be a fantastic opportunity for companies, government departments, and not-for-profits alike to learn how to spot the warning signs of fraudulent behaviour." said Turner.

Jonathan joins two other previously announced speakers on the tour - Daniel Burrus and Kevin Mitnick.

Burrus is one of the world's top technology forecasters. He will be helping Australian organisations through MITIGATE by showing them how to turn rapid technology-driven change into a competitive advantage.

Mitnick is the world's most famous (former) hacker, and will share his expertise with Australian organisations through MITIGATE to help them reduce their risk of compromise by cybercriminals.
