The Document factory gets set to launch its online demo

The Document Factory (TDF) gets set to launch a demo of its online document production environment.

TDF is the owner/ developer of the unique CEM (Communication Environment Manager) which recently was announced as part of the communications hub solution  http://www.itwire.com/content/view/27023/1231/ .

Having come from a retail banking and operational background, Rob Thompson founder and Managing Director of The Document Factory, initially moved into the communications space as he was dissatisfied with options available to his business and customers. “The biggest issues I faced on a daily basis relating to customer communications were disenfranchised product and business personnel and frequent road blocks within IT architecture and processes” Rob commented, “All I wanted to do was have better control and methodology; and more levers for the business to choose from”. In the document/ communications space Rob sees the key levers for organisations as being, control including business and operational involvement, choice of channel and delivery (driven by either the business or customer), consistency of fulfilment; and cost/ revenue opportunities.

Steve Pryce, General Manager APJ from EMC Document Sciences (http://www.docsciences.com) said, “The CEM fulfils a growing requirement from organisations to manage communications across all channels, leverage electronic distribution whilst at the same time allows for increased contestability on the cost of print.”

To this end, Rob left a 10 year career in a tier one bank and started meeting customer needs under The Document Factory and The Strategy Factory. This lead to the development of the CEM and now sees TDF developing a document solution available to clients through the web as a cloud solution, self or assisted service. Rob envisages TDF will have an online demo of capability ready by end of January or early February 2010. “Our demo will show clients that the existing bottle necks in making changes to collateral or communication related pieces can happen in a real time fashion (today these changes can take from 2 weeks to several months) and can be done by the communications owner not controlled by an IT process”.

TDF is a privately held company founded, along with The Strategy Factory, in late 2007. TDF is an independent organisation that owns and sells the CEM software and provides consulting at all ends of the communications value chain for communication initiators (e.g. banks, utilities, etc), Service Providers (e.g. document software vendors) and bureaus/ print house/ presentment providers. As far as working with other parties is concerned, TDF is currently looking at potential projects with Zenith Solutions, EMC/ Document Sciences, to name a few and is engaged in other opportunities. Rob and his team can be contacted at The Document Factory, www.thedocumentfactory.com.au .
