PowerHealth increases commitment to patient billing

ImagePowerHealth Solutions has further demonstrated its commitment to become the supplier of choice for patient billing solutions by acquiring Web Alliance — the Australian software company which owned the Platypus 2 patient billing software.

ImagePlatypus 2 is an enterprise-wide application specifically developed to meet the requirements of New South Wales Area Health Services.

This acquisition further strengthens PowerHealth's position in the Australian market.

PowerHealth Solutions is investing substantial resources to enhance Platypus 2 to meet the requirements of other Australian state health systems and private hospitals.

The enhanced application will be known as PowerBilling and Revenue Collection - Australian Edition and will complement the software PowerHealth Solutions has already developed to meet international healthcare billing market.

Director, Paul Venables said, "We specialise in back office systems that increase the efficiency and lower the cost of managing a healthcare organisation.

"This acquisition is another step towards our objective to become the recognised market leader and supplier of choice for healthcare billing solutions to both public and private hospital in Australia."

Recent Australian health system reviews have demonstrated that hospitals can significantly increase revenues and reduce operating costs (35-60%) by implementing an enterprise-wide billing solution.
