PCs SET TO GO GREEN DOWN UNDER Verdiem SURVEYOR Energy Efficiency Software launches in Australasia

Verdiem, the leader in power management software for PC networks, today announced GreenInnovation will distribute Verdiem SURVEYOR Energy Efficiency Software in Australia and New Zealand. SURVEYOR is the ideal first step for companies to reduce their IT carbon footprint, address rising energy bills and meet expectations from shareholders, employees and consumers to address climate change.

“We are excited to collaborate with GreenInnovation in this growing market,” said Dave Harvey , Vice President of Business Development at Verdiem. “Together we will help reduce IT costs and CO2 emissions, which will have a positive impact on the carbon footprint worldwide.”

Studies show that PCs and monitors use as much as 14 percent of all office power consumption. Companies, communities and organizations are increasingly seeking ways to measure, monitor and manage their IT energy waste. More energy-efficient PC networks help reduce global climate change, and also cuts energy expenses, adding long-term value to the bottom line.

“SURVEYOR offers the most innovative and accessible energy management solution for PC networks," said Marcel Merkus, GreenInnovation CEO. “By using Verdiem's SURVEYOR software, organizations can centrally manage the sleep, shut down and wake cycles to eliminate PC power waste and reduce spending on energy.”

More than 450,000 PCs worldwide save energy with SURVEYOR. In 2008 SURVEYOR users will cumulatively save over 482 million kWh, in electricity savings, which equals more than AUD$55 million, and greenhouse gas emissions equal to taking more than 59,000 passenger cars off the road for an entire year, or conserving 114 million litres of petrol.

For most companies, SURVEYOR software pays for itself in less than 18 months, followed by ongoing energy cost savings. SURVEYOR will be available to Australian and New Zealand businesses this month. There are an estimated 12 million PCs and monitors currently in use in the two countries.
