TechnologyOne Appoints Research and Development Manager

TechnologyOne has announced the expansion of their team with the appointment of Derek Walsh to the role of Research and Development Manager, for TechnologyOne’s Financials and Supply Chain solutions. Walsh will lead the product development teams to continue the development and delivery of TechnologyOne’s ‘best-in-class’ software solutions domestically and internationally.

Technology One Limited (ASX: TNE), a leading Australian provider of enterprise business software solutions, has announced the appointment of Derek Walsh to the position of Research and Development Manager, for TechnologyOne’s Financials and Supply Chain solutions.

Walsh will lead the product development teams to continue the development and delivery of TechnologyOne’s ‘best-in-class’ software solutions domestically and internationally.

With more than 20 years experience in the UK , US and Australian software industries, Walsh was previously employed by ThoughtWorks Inc, a global IT consultancy with a focus on the use of the most innovative technology and processes.

During his time at ThoughtWorks Australia Pty Ltd, Walsh was initially Managing Director with responsibility for the successful creation and growth of the Australian practice within the company. In 2006, Walsh was appointed to the role of Vice President, Operations for ThoughtWorks Studios, the global product division of the company, with responsibility for all commercial and operational aspects of this division.

Walsh is one of the leading Australian advocates of Agile Development Practices and his career is highlighted by a strong focus on helping organisations maximise their return on investment in software development through the optimisation of development processes. 

The unique combination of Walsh’s leadership skills, understanding of the software development environment for new and existing applications and past experience in delivering timely and on-budget results secured him the management position.
