Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
French astronaut Léopold Eyharts will be part of the Expedition 16 crew of the International Space Station that will deliver the European Space Agency's Columbus laboratory this (northern) autumn.
Eyharts' flew aboard the Russian Mir space station in 1998, a trip lasting 22 days. This time, he will stay in orbit for two months, installing and commissioning Columbus. Two sapcewalks will be needed to set up the lab and its external payloads.
Columbus is a 4.5m diameter cylindrical module with an internal voulme of 75 cubic metres. It will be attached to the space station via a European-built connector module. Initial experiments will be in the areas of biology, physiology, materials science and fluid science. The lab accommodates ten phonebooth-sized payload racks and also has four mounting points for external payloads.
German astronaut Hans Schlegel is already scheduled to be aboard the space shuttle Discovery when it delivers Columbus to the ISS, but he will return on the shuttle after just two weeks.
