Even though these three celestial bodies appear to be very close together, they are only that close with respect to our perspective here on Earth. The Moon is approximately 400,000 kilometers (248,000 miles) away from Earth.

Venus is even further away, at an average of 108 million kilometers (67 million miles), and Jupiter extends itself even further away from Earth, at about 861 million kilometers (535 million miles).
