A total lunar eclipse will be present in the western parts of the United States and Canada, along with Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, and parts of central and eastern Asia on Saturday, December 10, 2011.
If you are located on the western coast of North America, be ready to see a total lunar eclipse on Saturday, December 10, 2011.
And, if you are in Alaska, Australia, Hawaii, New Zealand, or central and eastern Asia, you should also be able to see the eclipse.
From between 4:45 and 8:18 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (12:45 to 16:18 GMT), the disk of the full Moon will be transformed into light orange to copper-red colors as it passes through the shadow of the Earth.
When may make the portrait even more memorable will be that the Moon will be close to setting on the western horizon as the lunar eclipse occurs.
