Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Three space station astronauts land sideways

Science - Space

International Space Station commander Mike Fossum (United States) and flight engineers Satoshi Furukawa (Japan) and Sergei Volkov (Russia) landed sideways aboard their Soyuz spacecraft in Kazakhstan early in the morning of November 22, 2011.

The space trio had been part of the ISS Expedition 29 crew aboard the International Space Station since June 9, 2011.

The Soyuz space capsule (Soyuz TMA-02M) landed on its side, which is not its usual way of landing -- the capsule is intended to land on its bottom (heat shield). However, Russian officials stated that such a landing is not uncommon.

The landing occurred at 0226 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

The ISS is now manned with three astronauts, U.S. astronaut Dan Burbank (commander) and Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin (both flight engineers).

The trio launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on November 14, 2011.

These three crewmembers, part of the ISS Expedition 29 crew, will be joined by three more astronauts, who are due to take off from Baikonur on December 26, 2011.
