Some things are more relative than others, they say, and some are more incomprehensible too. Every now and then It pays to review our position in the scale of things, helping us to renew our wonderment about the cosmos and understand better the relative import of daily dramas and events.
Today I came across Cary and Michael Huang's The Scale of the Universe animation (2010).
It's quite impressive:
Move the horizontal slider button (or click the left/right arrow keys) to zoom in and out across the scale. And here's a tip: be sure to click the down arrow key to improve the quality of the image.
