NASA wants you to Be A Martian

Science - Space

The U.S. space agency has set up a website so that all Earthlings can also become Martians. NASA says it is an Age of Virtual Exploration and the Human-Robotic Partnership. Sign up now!

The Web site was developed under a “Memorandum of Understanding” between the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and the Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft).

You may sign up if you agree to certain terms.

For instance, NASA states it “… encourages a spirit of community, where individuals from around the world can contribute to the common human endeavor that space exploration represents, and, in the process, build their own knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).”

Consequently, “Your commitment to this code of content helps create a positive experience for all of the Site’s users.”

And, “This site may offer opportunities for members who sign up to “Be A Martian" to enhance their own learning and make contributions by asking questions, offering mentorship in the form of suggestions to the community at large etc.”

Furthermore, “Leveraging Microsoft technologies, NASA/JPL-Caltech will implement ways of allowing public participation, while monitoring and approving content that can be seen by all (providing “Communications Services").”

What is most important when you sign up to be a Martian? Turn to page two for the answer and to find out where to go on the Web to become a Martain.
