Virgin Galactic, a part of the Virgin Group, is owned primarily by Branson and secondarily by
Aabar Investments, which is an investment fund owned by the Abu Dhabi city government. Abu Dhabi is the second largest city of the United Arab Emirates, and also its capital city.
The company (Virgin Galactic) expects to provide suborbital spaceflights to paying customers beginning in 2011.
Over the next year and a half, Virgin Galactic will be testing the new spaceplane (VSS
Enterprise), along with its carrier aircraft WhiteKnightTwo, specifically Virgin MotherShip (VMS)
Eve.
