NASA takes Earthlings to "Planet 51"

The Sony Pictures animated movie "Planet 5" helps to promote the importance of space exploration to all peoples of the planet Earth and other planets in the Milky Way galaxy and beyond.RELATED STORIES
Actor Dwayne Johnson is featured in the movie as an American astronaut who lands on a planet unexpectedly filled with little green people. And, this time, we’re the aliens in this reversal of roles!
The movie is described as: “Planet 51 is a galactic sized animated alien adventure comedy revolving around American astronaut Charles “Chuck” Baker, who lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it."
"To his surprise, he finds the planet inhabited by little green people who are happily in a white-picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders … like Chuck.”

According to the NASA media release, Planet 51 star brings NASA’s message of exploration down to Earth, “Actor Dwayne Johnson, usually known for his action and comedic film roles, takes to the stars as an astronaut in a new animated feature that brings important messages about the importance of space exploration and education to those of us here on Earth.”
In association with the movie, NASA is providing public service announcements that emphasize “education, diversity, and NASA 'spinoff' technologies.”
