Three new Space Station crew to join three others onboard

Science - Space

RSA cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, Expedition 19 commander; NASA astronaut Michael Barratt, Expedition 19 flight engineer; and JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata, Expedition 19 flight engineer, are currently onboard the ISS.

This crew includes three countries involved with the Space Station: Russia, United States, and Japan.

Russian cosmonaut and ISS Expedition 20 commander Roman Romanenko, European Space Agency flight engineer Frank De Winne, and Canadian flight engineer Robert Thirsk were just launched into space.

They are moving toward the International Space Station inside their Soyuz TMA-15 spacecraft.

This crew adds a member from the European Union and Canada to the international crew, making it five member countries all represented onboard the Space Station; that is, as soon as the new crew arrives.

Members of the Expedition 20 crew answer questions in a video interview at RussiaToday.com.
