According to MRQE, the synopsis of the movie states, “The greatest adventure of all time begins with "Star Trek," the incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise."

The film is dedicated to the creator of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry, and his wife Majel Barrett (Star Trek nurse “Christine Chapel”).

Barrett is the voice of the Star Trek computer in the new movie, a role she completed only two weeks before her death on December 18, 2008.
